I've spent a lot of time here through out the years. It's clean and the walkable pavement is very smooth. This park has very easy beginners hiking trails and it's a great place to take my dog here with me. Like every forest preserve, there are weirdos there but I've had minimal interactions.
Great trails, if you have a stroller or wheel chair it's a good option! Very pretty. The first part doesn't have tree cover
Great place to get away and go for nature walk with pups 🐶 😀
We had an issue when we arrived to find another group in our reserved shelter but the park staff were able to sort it out even on a Sunday. It helped that we had our reservation on the phone. The other group had booked a different shelter. I do advise anyone to bring bug spray and apply it before you put out any food. The bees were abundant. Make sure you bring your own grill as there are none here.
Good place to host a community event. Lots of greenery about. However, there's simply almost too much poop everywhere... Not sure if it's dog walks or the geese or something but whatever animals they are, they've definitely been eating great. Otherwise, good place.
It's a nice trail with ample parking. I was here for a cross country meet. Palatine
HS put on a great meet Luke they always do. More importantly It was a true cross country meet that had great competition for both girls and boys. Great Course to run and watch as a spectator. I was lucky and fortunate to get a parking spot due to the amount of teams competing.
One of my new top favorite forest preserves to visit. I love that it has paved pathways for people who ride bikes as well as natural unpaved paths for people who prefer to hike without too many bikes going by. It was fun exploring the forest and the paths. It's also a great place to explore while camping at Camp Reinberg.
Great walking path loop with scenic prairie views, surrounds a couple ponds as well. On the very perimeter of the preserve off the trail next to Dundee and Quentin road there's a cool old house and a old feeder for cattle. On the other edge of Deer Grove East it's backs up to Dunehaven homes (nice houses) and there's nice sections of forest where all the deer reside. If you're just looking for a walking path this is your spot. If you're looking for more woods go to deer Grove West
